The Portwest FT72 Steel Suede Ankle Boot is an S3L safety boot with a cow suede leather upper, a steel toecap and a pierce resistant composite midsole. It is cold insulated and has a cushioned footbed and breathable mesh lining for all-day wear. Part of Portwest's Steelite Work range, it is made for industrial wear with a strong, flexible construction.

Made to wear every day. The upper is cow suede leather and the lining is breathable mesh. A back pull-tab helps you get the boot on, and the boot is anti-static.
What S3L means. Under EN ISO 20345:2022, S3 footwear has a closed heel area, energy absorption in the seat region, anti-static properties and resistance to water penetration and absorption, plus perforation resistance and a cleated outsole. The L in S3L means a non-metal insert (type PL).
About SR slip resistance. SR footwear has passed a slip test on ceramic tile with a sodium lauryl sulphate solution and glycerine. Floor surfaces play a big part, so slips can still happen in some places.
Colours and sizes. FT72 comes in Black/Grey, in UK sizes 6 to 13 (EU 39 to 48), including UK 6.5 and 10.5.

The boot comes with a removable insock; wear it with the insock in place. Portwest recommends having your foot measured, as there is no exact standard for converting shoe sizes.

Care
Clean regularly with a good proprietary cleaning product, never a caustic one. Let wet boots dry naturally somewhere cool and dry; do not force dry. Check the stitching, tread and sole bond before use, and replace the boots if they are damaged or the toe has taken a heavy impact.

Is the toecap steel or composite?
The toecap is steel. The pierce resistant midsole is composite.
Can I change the insole?
The boot was tested with its removable insock in place. Only wear it with the insock fitted, and only replace it with a comparable insock.
Is it anti-static?
Yes. Anti-static footwear reduces static build-up, but it cannot guarantee protection against electric shock.
