The Portwest FV06 Composite Nubuck Mid Boot is a metal-free S7L safety boot for people who work in the wet, at height or in poor light. A waterproof membrane keeps feet dry through the working day, and reflective materials cover about 30% of the boot's surface so you are easier to see on site.
Key features
- Dry feet: a waterproof membrane and a bellows tongue help keep water out.
- Seen sooner: highly reflective upper materials cover about 30% of the boot, around the foot and ankle.
- Metal free: a composite toecap and pierce resistant composite midsole, with a non-magnetic, nickel and ferrous free build that is metal detector friendly.
- Grip where it counts: a dual-density PU outsole that is slip resistant and fuel and oil resistant, with a certified ladder grip.
- Comfort for long shifts: a cushioned footbed with extra underfoot padding, a padded collar and an energy absorbing seat region.
Why reflective boots help. Portwest points to research showing that workers are recognised sooner when reflective parts sit on moving parts of the body, such as the ankles, knees and wrists. Adding reflective material around the foot and ankle helps you stand out in low light and in high-risk areas.
What S7L covers. Under EN ISO 20345:2022, S7L footwear meets the S3 requirements plus water penetration and water absorption, and uses a non-metal perforation resistant insert (type PL). The FV06 is also anti-static and has a protective scuff cap.
Easy to get on. A back pull-tab helps you get the boot on, and the angled top line gives a better fit and lets the leg flex. The upper is full grain nubuck leather with a mesh lining.
Colours and sizes. FV06 comes in Black, in UK sizes 3 to 13 (EU 36 to 48), including UK 6.5 and 10.5.

Care
Care
Clean regularly with a good proprietary cleaning product, never a caustic one. Let wet boots dry naturally somewhere cool and dry; do not force dry. Check the stitching, tread and sole bond before use, and replace the boots if they are damaged or the toe has taken a heavy impact.
Product FAQs
Product FAQs
What does S7L mean?
Under EN ISO 20345:2022, S7L footwear meets the S3 requirements plus water penetration and water absorption, and uses a non-metal perforation resistant insert (type PL).
Is the FV06 metal free?
Yes. Portwest lists it as 100% metal free, with a composite toecap and composite midsole. It is non-magnetic, nickel and ferrous free, and metal detector friendly.
What does SR mean?
The sole passed the slip test on ceramic tile with a sodium lauryl sulphate solution and glycerine. Slips can still happen on some surfaces.
Is it anti-static?
Yes. Anti-static footwear reduces static build-up, but it cannot guarantee protection against electric shock.
