The Portwest PW74 Dual SNR Ear Defenders let you switch the protection level between SNR 25 dB and SNR 35 dB by hand, so one pair covers changing noise levels through the day. They are designed for workers exposed to a range of noise levels. A dial on the ear cup shows which setting is selected, so you can check it at a glance.

Key features

  • Two protection levels: SNR 25 dB for medium attenuation and SNR 35 dB for high attenuation, tested to EN 352-1.
  • Easy manual control: turn the dial to + for SNR 35 dB or to - for SNR 25 dB.
  • Clear indicator: the selected SNR level is shown on the ear cup, so you can see you have the right setting.
  • Secure, slip-free fit: the TPE-coated headband holds the ear defenders in place.
  • Cushioned cups: ABS cups with PU cushions filled with foam, at a weight of about 350 g.

Choose the right setting for the job. Ear defenders should be worn at all times in noisy places above 80 dB, and chosen to suit the noise you need to reduce. With PW74 you make that choice on the cup itself, rather than changing to a different pair. SNR stands for Single Number Rating.

Fit them properly. With the headband directly over your head, pull the cups out and place them over your ears so they fully enclose each ear and seal against your head. Adjust the headband for a secure fit. Move hair out from under the cushions, and bear in mind that glasses frames between the cushion and your head can reduce protection. Check the fit before you go into noise.

Look after them. Check the cushions often for cracks and leaks, and throw the ear defenders away if you find any damage, as there are no spare parts. In normal use they stay effective for 2 to 3 years after first use. They are CE certified, CE-CAT III, and come in a retail box.

Colours and sizes. PW74 comes in Black, one size.

Size and Fit

One size, worn over the head. Portwest rates these ear muffs for the small, medium and large size ranges under EN 352-1. Adjust the headband to close the gap between band and head, and make sure the cups fully enclose your ears and seal against your head.

Care

Clean the cups, cushions and headband with warm soapy water and dry with a soft cloth. Never use solvents or abrasive products. Store in the original packaging in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and frost. Hygiene covers on the cushions may affect performance.

Can I wear them with glasses?
